AJ Styles Is Beyond Ecstatic About Something WWE Didn’t Do

A few weeks ago the WWE underwent a “Superstar Shakeup” that saw several wrestlers switch shows. One of the big rumors just prior to that was AJ Styles going to Raw. During a recent interview with Inside the Ropes, Styles voiced his excitement that he didn’t get moved to Raw.

“As far as the Shakeup goes, I had no idea what was going on, I heard rumors as well, and I’m glad that they were wrong. Because, I hate when people know what’s going on in our business, it should be our business to surprise you, not your business for someone else to read on the internet. That actually, upsets me that some people know – whoever it is – in the office of WWE, can’t keep their mouth shut. But it’s fun for you guys to speculate and why ‘they need to be on Raw’ or ‘they need to be on SmackDown.’ That’s fun. And to guess, and then to not know- because WWE didn’t know until the last minute who was going where and I have no problem with that, because they [WWE] don’t know, neither does the internet. I think it [had] some surprises and that is a good thing.”

Since the brand split draft last year, Styles has carved his own lane on Smackdown Live. He has put together quite an impressive year on the show that includes becoming the WWE champion. He has also put on numerous high-quality matches with various superstars.

He is now on the path to possibly becoming the United States champion in what’s turning into an entertaining feud with Kevin Owens. All of this encapsulated with a babyface run by Styles on the program. All in all, Styles has an opportunity in front of him to become an even bigger superstar on Smackdown Live.
