Carmelo Anthony May Be Delusional After Making THIS Strange Announcement

Carmelo Anthony has played 13 seasons in the NBA without ever making it to a Conference Finals round. Though he was once a top 10 player, his production has dropped off in the last couple of years. Granted, he’s been on some bad Knicks teams and the shortcomings are not all his own fault, but his latest claim may make you ponder what he’s thinking. Here’s what he had to say to Kelly Evans of CNBC:

“I think I’m in the prime of my career right now. I have years to go in this league. I see guys playing 20 years. That’s a goal of mine – to play 20 NBA seasons.”

Melo may think he’s in his prime, but he’s almost certainly past it. It’s hard to believe that we will see Anthony play as well as he did in his Denver Nuggets days or even his early days with the Knicks again, but he believes it so.

Anthony will have to work to prove his statements to be true if he wishes for people to believe him. Right now, the Knicks are one of the worst teams in the Eastern Conference but they just hired a new head coach in Jeff Hornacek that hopes to turn their fortunes around soon. Time will tell.
