Charles Barkley Seriously Believes Team USA Is Struggling Due To This One Reason

Charles Barkley throughout his NBA career and following it has built a strong reputation as a person that’s never afraid to voice his opinion. It has actually become an expected quality of him. With Team USA stringing together some close wins in the group stage in the 2016 Summer Olympics, Barkley was at it once again.

“It’s not a good team to put together,” Barkley told “The Brad Cesmat Show” on Monday. “If you take away DeAndre Jordan, every guy on that team is a ball-dominant guy. You see them playing a lot of one-on-one basketball.”

Although Team USA is still winning games, it hasn’t been in the fashion that many had anticipated because of their talent level. Barkley’s stance does have some credence to it as many of their best players such as Carmelo Anthony, Kyrie Irving, DeMarcus Cousins all operate better with the ball in their hands. This has broken down the flow of the offense at times during the group stage.

That said, their overall talent of the roster is far superior to any of other international teams. They have been able to get by on that alone but have continued to work to improve in that area as evidence by the 105-88 drumming of Argentina in the quarterfinals. All of this criticism will no longer exist if this group is able to win a third straight gold medal at the Summer Olympics.
