Chris Jericho Reveals Some Huge News About Universal Title

Two weeks ago, Chris Jericho took a break from the WWE to begin touring with his band, Fozzy, ending a 16-month stint with the company. It was a highly successful run that saw him become further ingrained with WWE fans. According to 411 Mania, Jericho recently revealed some major news concerning his storyline before his hiatus.

Wrestlezone reports that during an appearance on Busted Open Radio, Chris Jericho claimed he was supposed to win the RAW Universal title at Wrestlemania 33. According to Jericho, he would have then dropped it to Brock Lesnar at Payback. He also said that he pitched a match at Wrestlemania 33 against Shinsuke Nakamura.

Either one of these storylines would have been huge for the WWE. With a big name like Jericho in the midst of it all, this would have provided a big boost to the company. It would have been quite interesting to see him hold the Universal title for an extended period of time.

This may have given him an entirely new storyline away from Kevin Owens that ended up being one of the biggest programs that the company has had in awhile. As for the potential Nakamura, it could have allowed for him to debut on the grandest stage in the company against one of the greats in the business. All in all, this revelation is just food for thought for wrestlings fans.
