Gordon Hayward Open Up To The World, Reveals Telling Announcement About The Great Kobe Bryant

About a month ago, Utah Jazz guard Gordon Hayward was on the receiving end of a serious beating doled out by Kobe Bryant. In Bryant’s final game in the NBA, he put up a staggering 60 points on Hayward on the Jazz. While the Los Angeles Lakers had a terrible season on the whole, it was certainly a great way to go out for the Black Mamba. Recently, Hayward opened up about Kobe and his performance in that game.

Here’s what he had to say:

“We were trying to win, and for a while there we were. But at the end of the game, in the closing minutes, everything that transpired kind of shocked us, to be honest. We were up double digits for most of the second half, and we led by 10 with about three minutes to go. So when Kobe started hitting shots, and the game started to get close, a lot of us were in shock.”

It had to hurt losing the game in the final minutes like that. However, losing to the great Kobe Bryant on a night where he scores 60 isn’t the worst way to go out. Many people criticized the Jazz for intentionally losing that game. People actually claim that they let Bryant win because it was his last game. Naturally, those comments are ridiculous. You can’t just “let” someone score 60.

It will be interesting to see where the Lakers go from here. They currently are in place for a top-three draft pick next year and will hope to move on to the next level now that Bryant is no longer in the league. Will the Lakers regain relevancy once again? Only time will tell.
