The Golden State Warriors are just two wins away from winning back-to-back NBA titles. Whatever their fate may be, there will be plenty of questions surrounding the roster in the offseason with several players set to become free agents. This includes Harrison Barnes, who recently spoke about his future with the franchise to NBA.com’s Scott Howard-Cooper.

“It’s out of my control. People say, ‘Do you want to be here in Golden State?’ A lot of it is, look, I love Golden State. I’d love to be here. But there’s also some other factors that factor into that, you know what I’m saying?”

There’s much expectation that Barnes will seek out a lucrative contract in the free agent market that could more than likely take Golden State out of the running for his services. The Los Angeles Lakers have emerged as a possible landing spot, especially with Warriors lead assistant coach Luke Walton becoming the team’s new head coach. There will also be other teams looking to add a promising young player.

The 24-year-old clearly wants to stay with the Warriors because of what has developed over the last few years. However, the temptation of being the main piece to another team could be too much to pass up. Barnes just finished his best individual regular season that saw him averaging a career-high 11.7 despite missing 16 games due to injury.
