John Wall Lets It All Go Concerning Wizards’ Game 7 Loss

The Washington Wizards on Monday night fell short in Game 7 of their Eastern Conference semifinals matchup against the Boston Celtics. It was competitive through much of the game until the Celtics took over the fourth quarter. Following the game, All-Star guard John Wall voiced his disappointment in his performance on the court.

“The only other way I can really process is I wish I would have played better.

“Other than that, we had a heck of a season, heck of a series. We could look at this as motivation.

“But other than that, it’s kind of hard to think about right now.”

Wall finished with 18 points on 23 shot attempts, including missing his last 11 shots of the game. When it mattered most, he came up short in arguably the biggest moment in his NBA career. It was a complete shadow of his strong performance in Game 6 that forced the Game 7 on Monday.

That said, it shouldn’t overshadow the strong season that Wall put together. He averaged a double-double with career highs of 23.1 points and 10.7 assists per game. All in all, this brings an end to what was Wall’s best campaign of his career.
