Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Fires A Major Shot At Dwight Howard

During his tenure with the Los Angeles Lakers, Dwight Howard went through much turmoil on and off the court. One of those hand-scratching situations was his unwillingness to work with Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. In a recent interview with Ryan Ward of Lakers Nation, the NBA Hall of Famer providing more insight to what he believed happened while taking a shot at Howard.

“Well, Dwight Howard didn’t want to do any work,” Kareem told Lakers Nation. “Andrew Bynum did not want to do a lot of work, but Andrew was kind of getting the hang of it. I don’t think Andrew was that interested in playing basketball.

“If he had stuck with it, I’m sure he would’ve done better. I’m sure he would’ve had a lasting career in the NBA.”

Jabbar went on to explain how Bynum simply wasn’t fond of the game nor did he want and to become a dominant player. As for Dwight, it seemed to be a lost cause from the beginning.

“Dwight Howard, I’m not going to say anything about him because I really don’t understand what his thing was.”

Abdul-Jabbar was clearly at a loss for words for Howard not wanting to work with him. He has a tremendous of things to offer the former All-Star center with his vast knowledge of the game and impeccable footwork. Howard could have benefited from it greatly.

Instead, it contributed to the disastrous one year he had with the team. There was much unwillingness on Howard’s behalf to fit in with the team that led to things quickly falling apart. Ultimately, this was much of Howard’s doing for the situation not working out.
