LeBron James Gets Emotional After Reaching Another NBA Finals

Over the last several years in the NBA playoffs, LeBron James has been the one constant. The four-time NBA MVP notched another career milestone by reaching a sixth consecutive NBA Finals on Friday night after the Cleveland Cavaliers won Game 6 against the Toronto Raptors in the Eastern Conference Finals. Immediately following the game, James let his emotions get the best of him for a slight second when he was asked about extending his NBA record another year.

The Cavaliers may be the toast of the Eastern Conference, but the fact of the matter is as long as James in the East the road to the NBA Finals runs through him. The 12-time All-Star is still playing at an elite level and has clearly demonstrated in this year’s playoffs why he’s still the league’s best player. He also has plenty of gas left in the tank remain at the top of his game for the next handful of years.

James has been to the mountaintop twice in his NBA career by capturing a pair of championships with the Miami Heat. However, he has ahead of him arguably the most career-defining opportunity of trying to bring home the first NBA title for the Cavaliers. It would also be the first major sports championship for the city of Cleveland since the Cleveland Browns won in 1964. James and his teammates will have a tough assignment in the NBA Finals facing either the defending champion Golden State Warriors or Oklahoma City Thunder.
