One NBA Superstar Has Laid Out His Recruiting Plans For Kevin Durant

Since Kevin Durant’s pending free agency became a topic of discussion, the Washington Wizards have been prominently mentioned as a potential landing spot. The franchise happens to play in the 27-year-old’s hometown of Washington D.C. Although there’s expected to be a heavy push by the Wizards to sign Durant, their All-Star point guard is going to take a different approach in the pursuit.

If he comes, he comes, if not, got to make other plans,” Wall said. “But that’s something I haven’t talked to him about. I’m not willing to right now. He just came off a tough series. I’m trying to give him a couple of weeks, a month off, to think about what he wants to do.”

This may actually be the best route for Wall by allowing Durant to assess all his options instead of trying to overload him with pressure to sign with the Wizards. The former league MVP had stated throughout the season that his entire focus was on helping the Oklahoma City Thunder achieve their ultimate goal of winning a championship. Now with his season over, it allows him to hone in on his free agency plans.

The Wizards do have a few things going for them aside from being Durant’s hometown team that begin with having his former head coach Scott Brooks in place. If they are able to re-sign Bradley Beal, the team will feature one of the top backcourts in the league while playing in the less competitive Eastern Conference. Washington has their case for the seven-time All-Star, it’s just a matter of him seeing as the best option for his career moving forward.
