Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry has seen his individual game grow leaps and bounds over the last couple of years. He has quickly become one of the league’s best players while capturing back-to-back regular-season NBA MVP awards. However, he has made a huge decision regarding his participation with Team USA basketball in the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio.

Although many NBA fans would love to see Curry compete in the 2016 Rio Olympics, it’s a move that’s best for the future of his career. Remember, it wasn’t long ago that the 28-year-old was dealing with nagging ankle injuries that required a pair of surgeries. He also recently suffered two injuries earlier in this year’s playoffs that force him to miss some time.

Essentially, the two-time MVP has his health in mind when it comes to this decision. He has logged major minutes over the last two years that includes going deep into the playoffs by reaching the NBA Finals in each campaign. Curry has already accomplished plenty with Team USA by helping them win gold medals in the 2010 FIBA Basketball World Cup and 2014 World Cup.
