Thunder’s Plan To Stop Steph Curry Has Just Been Leaked… Will It Work?

Steph Curry may be the greatest shooter we’ve ever seen. That makes him one of the toughest players to guard in the NBA. It’s been well documented that Curry can pull up from just about anywhere and known down shots. Now that the OKC Thunder will face Curry and the Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference Finals, the Thunder need to find a way to stop, or at least slow him down. Thunder center Steven Adams believes he has the answer:

“Make him drive, make him drive, make him drive,” Adams told reporters last week.

While that may stop him from shooting the basketball, it may not stop Curry from scoring 30. Curry is great at driving to the basket. Though only six-foot-three, he is one of the best at finding ways to drive to the hope and put up effective shots. Naturally, there is no real answer to the question of Curry, but Adams believe this will at least slow him down.

The WCF should make for an amazing show of basketball. Both teams are stacked with superstar talent and it will likely come down to who knocks down more contested shots. Execution is key in this series. We will soon see if the Thunder do indeed implement Adams’ strategy and if it will be an effective one.
