WWE Could Make This HUGE Move For SummerSlam

The WWE made the major announcement last week that Brock Lesnar would have a “one-off opportunity” to fight at UFC 200. This was a surprising move given that Lesnar’s still under contract and retired from MMA five years ago. The WWE is reportedly hopeful that this decision could benefit them greatly at SummerSlam with the participation of a UFC fighter, according to PWInsiders.com:

WWE reached out to management for UFC fighter Paige Vanzant in regard to a potential role at the Summerslam PPV this August several weeks ago.

The WWE is also hoping that they can get a few other UFC women fighters that could further boost the attention toward the event. Along the same lines, the company wants Ronda Rousey to take part in a match at WrestleMania 33 next April. Rousey had made an appearance at WrestleMania 31 last year.

Obviously, this is still a fluid situation but there’s no reason to believe that both sides can’t work something out. The WWE should have the upper hand in the discussion given that they are allowing one of their biggest superstars to fight for the UFC. There should be more clarity to all of this in the coming weeks.
