WWE Has Set A Major Title Match For Backlash PPV

In just a few weeks the WWE is set to put on their first pay-per-view for Smackdown Live following WrestleMania 33. It already has a couple of intriguing matches on the card. According to Wrestling Inc, the WWE has added another title match to the card.

AJ Styles vs. new WWE United States Champion Kevin Owens is now official for the May 21st WWE Backlash pay-per-view from the Allstate Arena near Chicago.

This match had already been set in stone for AJ Styles after winning the No.1 contender match a few weeks ago. It was just the champion that wasn’t set in stone as Kevin Owens had to defend the belt at Payback against Chris Jericho. Although he lost it, he was able to win it back two days later.

This now puts in place what could be a long feud between the two superstars. Styles is arguably the best performer in the business while Owens has become a strong heel. All in all, the two are set to collide later this month as one of the biggest matches on the card for Backlash.
