It Doesn’t Look Like A Former WWE Superstar Will Return Anytime Soon

Prior to the WWE Brand split in July, there was much speculation about the company looking to bring back former superstars. One of the prominent names being mentioned was Rob Van Dam. In a recent interview on Sean Waltman’s X-Pac 1,2,360, Van Dam cleared the air on the situation.

“No, I haven’t heard from them since, it’s almost been a year actually. It was last October when we talked, and it really wasn’t a good time for me to go out on the road. I had personal stuff that I was going through. But there’s always a dollar amount that makes it worthwhile, you know what I mean? But the amount that would’ve made it worth it for me to go out and work wouldn’t have been worth it for them and what they were thinking, and so that just didn’t work out, which was good because I really wasn’t wanting to do it then. And also I might’ve scared them away with the number it would’ve taken to make it worth my while. So no, I really haven’t even talked to them.”

The 45-year-old was last a member of the WWE main roster back in 2014, and has since been on the independent circuit over the last couple of years. In fact, he has reduced his schedule even further in the last few months. With the WWE having last spoken to RVD back in last October, only shows that the two sides are far from making that possibility realistic.

However, Van Dam did also state in the interview that he has a similar contract to Chris Jericho. He just doesn’t have any interest in coming back on a full-time schedule with the company. If the WWE is willing on making him a part-timer like Brock Lesnar then things could change drastically between both sides.
