Kevin Garnett Eyes Coaching Career As Tyronn Lue Tries To Bring Him To Cleveland

This season we saw the last we’ll see of three Hall of Fame caliber players. Tim Duncan, Kobe Bryant and Kevin Garnett all hung it up for good on their own terms at the end of this season. Kobe seems to be focusing on his other business ventures, while Duncan is doing exactly what fans expected and quietly enjoying his time with his family. Kevin Garnett, on the other hand, doesn’t seem ready to leave the basketball world.

Garnett is interested in taking his talent and knowledge of the game to the world of coaching, and teaching players some of the things he learned in a long and incredible career. He’s great friends with Tyronn Lue, who seems keen to swoop Garnett up and give him his first coaching job.

The friendship between the two makes it a likely destination for Garnett if he really is interested in coaching. He’s already made plans to attend the Cavs ring ceremony on opening night this season, so maybe it’s not as far fetched as it might sound.

The Cavs already have one of the best locker rooms in the league, with Tyronn Lue at the helm and LeBron James serving as a coach in everything but name. Adding a 21 year veteran like Garnett to that locker room would take them to the next level.
