Lakers Fans Should Be Excited To Hear What Julius Randle Is Doing

In his first full season in the NBA, Los Angeles Lakers forward Julius Randle showed much promise and potential in his play on the court. He has quickly become one of the centerpieces to the puzzle for the franchise. In light of that, ESPN’s John Ireland in an interview with Silver Screen & Roll had some very encouraging news regarding Randle.

“Everybody I’ve talked to over there says he’s shooting 1,000 jumpers a day, he’s working at it relentlessly.”

The 21-year-old was at times a double-double machine on the court, but one area he struggled in was his mid-range game. Randle shot just 29.4 percent from that distance, which well below the league average. If he wants to expand on his game and pick up his level of production, this is one area that must see improvement.

New head coach Luke Walton will likely emphasis the use of the mid-range a much more given the importance outside shooting in his free-flowing system. Randle will have  to be an effective option in that system in order for him to see individual growth on the court.
