In the last few years, Indiana Pacers forward Paul George has established himself as one of the premier players in the league. He has proven that on the court over the last few years. According to a recent interview on XM NBA Radio, George has his eyes set on achieving one major personal goal next season.

“I definitely want to be MVP this year,” George said on Sirius XM NBA Radio on Wednesday. “It would be a challenge, but with coach Nate and the guys that I got here, I’m in position to move into that spot, as long as I remain being me, being a leader, being aggressive, and wanting that. It’s not mine for the taking. I gotta go get it. And this is my year to go get it.”

This falls in line with George’s comments earlier this week where he stated that he considers himself to be in the same category as LeBron James, who is a four-time NBA MVP. He has shown to be an elite player that can be an effective factor on both ends of the floor. In the last three full seasons that he’s played he has earned three All-Star Game selections and three NBA All-Defensive team selections (one first, two second).

George is also coming off the best individual season that saw him average a career-best 23.1 points with 7.0 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game. What he has going for him is that he’s just entering the prime of his career at just 26 years old. All in all, George has the opportunity to make his aspirations come to fruition.
