Steve Kerr Doesn’t Believe That Warriors Are Concerned About One Major Record

The Golden State Warriors with the addition of Kevin Durant this offseason now have the weight of the world on their shoulders. This has thrust an incredible level of expectations upon the franchise. In a recent interview, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr stated that winning 74 regular season games isn’t even in his team’s thought process.

“It’s not even a thought,” Kerr told Anthony Slater of the San Jose Mercury News prior to the preseason opener against the Toronto Raptors. “I don’t care if we added KD or Wilt Chamberlain.”

The ultimate goal for any NBA team is always winning a championship. Golden State is no different in that regard with the franchise looking to add another title. It’s a great step in the right direction for the team with Durant in the mix, but if they win an NBA title then none of that that truly matters.

The sole reason why Durant came to the Warriors is because the franchise offers him the best chance to win. If they win 74 games in the process so be it, but that’s not why the former league joined them. At the end of the day, winning  an NBA championship is all that should be on their minds.
