Warriors Actually Want Kevin Durant To Expand On One Aspect Of His Game

Since joining the Golden State Warriors a few months ago, there has been much made about what type of offensive role that Kevin Durant will have on the team. It’s expected that he would have a large role but how large is still a mystery. Following the team’s practice earlier this week, Durant provided some clarity to that.

Durant has stated on several occasions that the Warriors have told him that they want him to play like himself on the court. This will entail a significant offensive contribution that could rival that of Stephen Curry or even be greater. Golden State just wants to make the former league MVP feel as comfortable as possible on the court.

Although the Warriors have repeatedly told him that, Curry and Klay Thompson have also both stated that they won’t change their offensive game with Durant now in the mix. There are only so many shots going around, which will mean that a couple of the players will have to get the short end of the stick from time to time. Ultimately, all 0f this be resolved once the season gets underway and the players develop their on-court chemistry.
