When Questioned About Retirement, Manu Ginobili Has An Interesting Answer

Earlier this offseason, Manu Ginobili was indecisive about returning for his 15th NBA season all spent with San Antonio Spurs. He was even heavily considering retiring at one point. In light of all that, Ginobili is still unsure about when exactly he will finally step away from the game.

As long as I’m happy and enjoying [basketball] on a daily basis. That’s [been] my goal in the last two or three years.

The 38-year-old appears to be content with his decision to return another season, but his future will dependent primarily on his health. If he feels he can handle the physical rigors that come with playing the NBA, then he could play another couple years.

Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich has done an excellent job of resting his older players throughout the season in order to help keep them fresh when the playoffs come around. The only thing that is clear about Ginobili’s professional basketball career is that he will no longer participate with the Argentina national basketball team. All in all, it’s likely something that he will decide next offseason.
